What are the numbers on the field for each age group.
We will implement the the small sided games provisions of the MVYSA from our sanctioning body - OSYSA. So U9 and U10 teams will play 6v6, U11 and U12 teams will play 8v8 and U13-U14 teams will play 11v11. |
Cost?
$350 per team for U9 and U10, $400 per team for U11 and U12 and $450 per team for U13 and U14. We offer a discount for a club sending 5 or more teams. |
What forms are needed at registration?
Player cards, coach cards, official roster and 1 copy (for us), tournament release form signed by every players parents, medical release form for each player (USYSA membership form OK for this), Travel permission (if team is from outside Ohio South), and Guest player form (if needed). Additionally teams from Canada must supply proof of entry into the United States for each player and a completed form from its Provincial or National Association approving the team’s participation in the tournament. |
Can the medical release on the USYSA Membership form be used instead of the Charity Cup medical release form?
Yes - provided it is dated within 90 days of tournament. |
What is the deadline for submitting an application?
We have set the deadline for submitting applications as 12 PM on July 30th, 2008. |
Do you allow for U15's to play on U14's teams?
Yes we will follow the rule implemented by MVYSA that permits up to 3 U15's to play on a U14 for the fall season only. This can be very helpful to a U15 who will be in grade 8 this fall. |
How many games will my team play?
Our plan is for each team to play 4 games against 4 different teams. The weather, field conditions, or forfieting team may require some creative adaptions. |
The application form does not look right on my screen (overlapping drop down boxes, long rows over the input fields, etc.) What is going on?
First, you should let the ENTIRE form load BEFORE you scroll. It is a big form.
In short, your computer does not have enough memory (RAM) available to render the form correctly. Here is the solution that will work in most cases:
1. Clear the cache (temporary files) in Internet Explorer (Usually Tools>Internet Options>Remove Temporary files
2. Shut down Internet Explorer
3. Restart the computer
4. Open JUST MS Internet Explorer.
5. Go to Web site, fill out form.
In most cases, this will solve the problem.... |
What age groups are playing?
Both boys and girls teams in ages U9 through U14. |
What do we do about cards?
As a preseason event you have 2 options
1. Use last years cards (2007-8 season). They are good until end of August
2. Use the new cards issued for the fall (2008-9 season) |
Where will tournament be held?
At Eagle City Soccer Complex on the north side of Springfield Ohio. Springfield is 1/2 hour east of Dayton along the north side of I-70. We are located near the center of the state, no more than a 4 hour drive from the furthest reaches of Ohio. |
Who is sponsoring the tourney?
The Springfield Thunder Soccer Club and Rocking Horse Center with assistance from Springfield Chamber of Commerce, National Trails Parks and Recreation, and area businesses. |
Who should attend?
We are looking for teams who desire 4 matches to prep their team for the fall season. |
Why are you called a Charity Cup?
Our field sponsors will be directly supporting Rocking Horse Center - a Springfield based healthcare facility helping raise healthy children in caring families. Our goal is to raise $10,00 for their support each year. Their vision is to improve the health and well-being of all infants, children and youth in the Springfield area. Rocking Horse Center is located on South Limestone Avenue opposite South High Schoool. Its beautiful facility opened in 1999 and has experienced rapid growth. |
